In this first behind-the-scenes documentary on the sport of swimming, Unfiltered goes beyond the pool and provides an unprecedented inside look at the lives, friendship and rivalry of Michael Phelps and Ian Crocker.

A Baltimore swim prodigy from a single-parent household, Phelps never missed a day of training for 5 straight years and went on to achieve rock star status, winning 6 gold medals and 8 total Championship medals in 2004. Now, a 20-year-old, hip-hop loving University of Michigan freshman, Phelps strives to find balance between his new celebrity life and the challenges of growing up.

Crocker, having blazed an unlikely trail from Maine to Olympic glory, successfully battled depression to become the fastest butterfly swimmer in history. Now, the 23-year-old, soft-spoken University of Texas student balances his fierce training schedule with the "maximum chill” of playing blues guitar and restoring Berta, his 1971 Buick Riviera.

While following Phelps and Crocker for the critical 4-month period between the 2005 World Championships, Unfiltered delves into the athletes personal lives to explore what drives these distinctly different people in their similar desire to win.

Never-before-seen home video, childhood photographs, rare personal insight, and in-depth interviews with family, friends, coaches and celebrities.
